With science of plant resource as key discipline, with collection and protection of plant resource, development of medicinal plants, breeding and promotion of ornamental plants and economic plants as major research content; with collection and protection of rare and endangered plants, important economic plants and resource plants home and abroad as well as education as major tasks, NBG ( JIB ) endeavors to become a first-class national research center of protection and sustainable utilization of plant resources, cultivation base for talents of plant science, as well as a promotion and demonstration agency of plant science and technology.
